I don’t have perfect nails and am not really into manicures. But I do love nail polish and somehow have a disgustingly large collection.
In my Ipsy September Glambag, I received a nail polish by Pretty Woman NYC in color “Girl Boss.” The color looked interesting – a grayish purple. So I clipped and filed my ragged nails and put it on. And it went on SOOOO easily! I was mesmerized by how easy it was to apply. So even. No bubbles or bumps. Just smooth, thick, rich, shiny color. Wow.
I’m in love with this shade and this brand of polish. I had never heard of Pretty Woman NYC until my September Ipsy bag. But this is not the last polish from them I will be buying. Their website says it is sold at Walmart among other places and they are quite cheap – $7.99. You can see what other lovely polish colors they offer here!
OMG – this is an AMAZING deal. The Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette for only $27??? Insane. I already own this palette and can attest to the fact that it is AMAZING. If you don’t have it, get it. You will look smoldering hot with these awesome shadows. The packaging is gorgeous too.
You can order yours today here!
I picked up this sweet little set of mini lipsticks by Urban Decay at the Sephora Holiday Preview Event yesterday. This is a great selection of five lipstick colors (pictured below) and will be great for my every mood. They are smaller sized than the regular Vice lipsticks. It’s really a cute little set.
1993 is my fav, actually, because it takes me back to high school days. Back then, we coveted MAC lipsticks and Twig was THE shade with an obvious lip liner around it. And when it wasn’t Twig, it was frosty pinky purples like B-Cup and Pervette (also by MAC). Oh yeah, and of course a MAC eyeshadow in a tacky blue – Tilt was the one – metallic AF.
Okay, I just dated myself. Totally. This makes me think of a convo I heard in a Sephora not too long ago where a prospective employee was being interviewed. They were quizzing her on the history of Urban Decay and were like ‘do you know how UD started?’ She was like ‘…that is before my time…’ I knew… nail polish. I didn’t say though, since I didn’t feel like ruining the vibe of her interview. I was such a Urban Decay fan. When they branched out into eye shadows and lipsticks, I snapped up as many as I could. That Vice re-release of retro shades – I had all of them… And those individual eye shadow pans – I loved it. Those wild colors… And as much Hard Candy as I could afford for my nails. We all wore those ugly plastic jelly rings from HC polishes. OKAY! I have to stop. Too much 90s flashback.
Have a Happy Sunday!
The special Holiday Preview event at Sephora for VIB Rouge members! September 9th, from 8:30am to 10am – I was there…
I am away on holiday now, but that didn’t stop me from going to the local Sephora and indulging. Below is a picture of the Gift with Purchase – a totally sweet Sephora make up bag with cute lips all over it, and some beauty sample-sized items.
The sample items included Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r primer and foundation, Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream, Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, Amore Pacific vintage single extract essence, Farmacy’s Honey Savior all in one skin repair salve, Algenist’s advanced lift contouring cream, and Giorgio Armani’s ecstasy shine lip color.
I did also indulge a little too much and my haul is pictured below…
I picked up two of the Holiday Preview items – the Urban Decay Little Vice set of lipsticks and the Smashbox shadow & light travel sized palette set. I also picked up a few things on my beauty shopping list including another Urban Decay Vice full sized lipstick, a Too Faced Peach Kiss lipstick, the mini travel sized Kat Von D under-eye circle set, as well as a lip liner in a shade that will hopefully go with some of the lipsticks in the box.
I picked up a few more things than planned, but I haven’t had a beauty splurge in a while…
Did you go to your local Sephora for this VIB Rouge event?
When I saw the 500 point Beauty Insider reward from Too Faced, I knew it was time to spend some of the points I had accumulated. It did not disappoint!!! This cute box of treats had me all excited! I opened it and found the sweetest mini Chocolate Bar palette – perfect size for traveling! It also came with a mini eyeshadow primer, better than sex mascara, and Melted liquid lipstick.
The shades in the mini Chocolate Bar palette are totally perfect. The Chocolate Soleil tint is perfect for a sun kissed glow. I love Too Faced and am excited to bring this palette with me on my next trip!!!
How often do you clean your make-up brushes? I do at least once a week – usually on Sunday evening! It is very important to do this to keep them bacteria-free and to keep your make up fresh. Gentle soap and water works fine and be sure to let them air dry. Also, be sure not to get the part at the handle and metal interface wet or the bristles can become unglued.
Too Cool For School is the brand that brought us Egg Mellow Butter (a DREAM!) and I was curious to try their cosmetics line. What better places to start than with a lip tint! That stained, i-just-drank-a-red-drink lip look is very trendy these days and I am always looking for something to achieve this. So I purchased the Dinoplatz Lost Identity Lip Tint in #1 Lost in You. It is sooooo cute!
The packaging really caught my eye! Look at how this pencil was wrapped and the artwork inside! LOVE!
I have tried this and actually have used it almost every day going to work this week. Next I want to try another shade and another product of theirs. The Mascara, maybe? Has anyone tried anything else from Dinoplatz?
Sugarpill’s new limited edition Valentine’s Day palette “Feline Fancy” has arrived and it is just as good – if not better – as I imagined it to be. It is simply amazing!!! The packaging is just so cute with such sweet artwork it makes the whole package a totally awesome experience.
Just look at the inside of the box, under the palette!
It is little details like this that make Sugarpill’s stuff some of my favorite ever.
And the back of the box –
Mmmm! Sooooo nice.
The colors themselves are beautiful and highly pigmented, true to all of Sugarpill’s stuff. I haven’t tried the liquid lipstick yet – dark lips are not really my thing – but from looking at online photos, it can look very pretty on a pale complexion.
This is the palette I will be reaching for this Valentine’s Day – and many other days! It is so much fun. There are some left still online and you can buy one for yourself here.
I’ve become obsessed with Rose Gold!
This Rose Gold Tweezerman eyelash curler is my latest Sephora purchase. VIB Rouge is great because shipping is free and fast. Not to mention the constant flow of samples and travel sized products that come along with all the online orders!
This eyelash curler works well and it is so pretty to look at.
Pretty tools make me want to do a pretty job with the make up!
Nails Inc. Cornwall Gardens with Primrose Street layered on top – a totally beautiful iridescent look! And my new Nails Inc Tootsie Tamer foot-scrub in a lovely rose gold.
I used Nails Inc Nail Kale Basecoat, followed by Cornwall Gardens – one layer – then a coat of Primrose Street followed by the Nails Inc top coat.
